I'm Laura. I'm weird. I'm annoying. I'm an author. Hi.

This post is slightly random and weird. Since it’s me, it’s okay.

Today I shall talk about Simple Poems

The most cliche, most simple, most adorable poem in the English language is:

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
*insert line here*
______________ you.

Many people, including myself, cringe at the sight of the line “violets are blue”

Though, really, it is very simple to change that line.
Of course if you change the second line, you are entitled to change the fourth line.

Unless you change the second line to: “Skies are blue”
Then the fourth line could still end with “you”

But if you want to risk it, why not change it to: “Hearts are too”
Still the fourth line could end with “you” or any word rhyming with “too”

Let’s dive deeper into this concept.

Let’s say we use other colors.

Starting with the basics:
Blue [X]
Green
Yellow

Ex. 1:
Roses are Red
Leafs are Green
Out of all the flowers
You are the prettiest I’ve seen

Ex. 2:
Roses are Red
The sun is yellow
Hanging with you
Makes me feel mellow

The second and fourth line go hand in hand.

Really this poem is easy to change. It is easy for you to make it fit the situation that is needed.

Simple and sweet.
